The thirty first item is the second photograph featuring the watermill known as the “Higher Mill of Helmshore”. The village of Helmshore is situated in the Rossendale valley of Lancashire. We are informed that the mill was built in around 1780 and that the “Higher Mill of Helmshore” specialised in the processes of “Fulling” and “Raising.” The photograph was produced in 1961.
