The future of history - 'archivists are activists'...

We are keen to highlight the importance of engaging with archives and archiving to preserve history. Archives are abundant, shape-shifting spaces of knowledge which can inspire new ways of thinking about our own positions in the history of the world.

What do we want the archive of the future to look like? How may this impact how we act today?

When working towards a sustainable future, it is imperative that we consider our own contexts and ensure that we actively create space for conversations that leave no one behind.

Our archives and library are shaped by those that interact with them – gaps in the archive are unfortunately unavoidable, but we are working towards filling gaps in the narrative and shifting the perspective from a western one to a global one.

Aim 2 – We aim to empower young people to engage with archiving, considering the importance of archives for our future, and the implications of global crises on archives.
