Windmills of Sussex
£24.00
The Sussex windmill was fairly evenly matched in quantity with the Sussex watermill, and the distribution of both was shared equally in the High Weald. Clusters of windmills were to be found in the coastal areas, around the Selsey Peninsula and towns such as Brighton, Littlehampton, Eastbourne, Hastings and Rye. Few existed in the north west of the country where the watermill held sway on the Rivers Rother and Arun. In the central area the River Ouse supplied power for many watermills.
