Volume 61 of the ‘Berks. Archaeological Journal’ (1963-1964) contains a short article by J. Kenneth Major entitled ‘Berkshire Watermills’ lists 112 mill sites in the former county of Berkshire, and of these about on-firth of the total are situated on the River Ock and its tributaries.

This booklet is an attempt by the Wantage Industrial Archaeology Group to up-date the part of J. K Major’s list devoted to the Ock.

Contains a gazetteer of mill sites along the Ock with a description and history of each mill given when it is known. Includes a map showing the location of the mill sites.
