Please help spread the word of how a little contribution can make a big difference to a worthy windmill under restoration, and thanks to the internet, you don’t even have to live in Yorkshire or watch Calendar to do it. Just make a note of the voting date on your calendar. Thanks, Geraldine ps. apologies if you have already received this direct.
Original message from Hogate Windmill:
And it won ’t cost you anything! Well, only 10p anyway.
On Monday 22 November, Holgate Windmill will be appearing on “Peoples Millions”, on the ITV Yorkshire evening regional news, where we will go head to head with another local charity to try and win £50,000 of Lottery funding. A short piece on each project will be shown, and the public are invited to ring and vote for their favourite. The one which wins will get the money.(A flyer is attached with more details of our project.)
This is where you come in! We need as many of our supporters to ring in as possible to vote for us. Calls cost 10p from a landline and you can ring up to 10 times. The lines will be open from 9am until midnight. The phone number won’t be announced until the day- Monday 22nd November- in the Daily Mirror. We will publish it on our website at 9am(www.holgatewindmill.org) and also on our facebook page so keep your eyes open!
If we win, we will use the winnings to replace and install a new set of five double shuttered windmill sails and frames. This would allow us to produce our own range of flour, using locally grown grain, to sell to the community.
Please register with the Peoples Millions website and add comments, especially messages of support.

And lastly, I’ve attached a photo taken yesterday of the mill – it’s half black!
Please remember to Vote “High Five for Holgate” on Monday 22nd November!
Thanks very much
