I was wondering whether anyone could possibly identify the attached windmill.
The photo comes from the Stichting Levende Molens archive at Roosendaal, which focusses on Flanders and the south of The Netherlands. Apart from that, they have some photos from other countries too, including this one.
The photo is without any captions, but no doubt it is a British one. It carries five sails, which should make it not too difficult to identify, although a survey compiled by TIMS member Frans Woons lists not less than 60 such five-sailed mills in the UK!
I have given it a try myself, and I was wondering whether it could be the Old Mill at Seaton Ross, in East Yorkshire. The mill seems very much the same, but the buildings surrounding the mill do not quite fit. Any suggestions would be welcome. Many thanks in advance, also on behalf of the Stichting Levende Molens.
