The sixty sixth item is a photograph which is entitled “Melin (Mill) Rhyd y benlog”. The identification of the precise location of this mill from this information has proved to be a somewhat difficult task. Nevertheless, it has become apparent through consulting the photographs of the Frank Gregory collection that this is Rhydbenllyg mill. When comparing the photographs of both collections, it is clear that this is the same mill. Therefore, one would imagine that “Rhyd y benlog” is the proper Welsh spelling with “Rhydbenllyg” being an anglicised version of the spelling. Rhydbenllyg is the name of a great valley and ford in Snowdonia ; at the heart of which this mill is situated. The image is dated to May 1954.
