Note by John Bedington reads “From the millpond bank, badly hidden by trees. The “battlements” behind are on Mr. Lindsay’s house, doubtless once the mill house. They were added by an Earl of Dudley in the last cent., who thought the house too plain (Also added an ogee window)”.
