The watermill here was constructed in the early 19th century. In 1892 a roller mill plant was installed, and in 1914 the mill was acquired by Bowman and Sons. In 1969 the watermill was demolished and a new mill with Simon equipment was built. An additional mill was added on the site in 1980. Milling operations at the site ceased in 2016, although it remains the headquarters of Bowman's ingredients manufacturing business.
