Flight's Mill, Kirtlington
On the Cherwell, this small stone-built mill dated from c1700. By 1968 the mill house was in a dilapidated state and all the corn milling equipment had been removed, but the buildings were under preservation. The low breastshot wheel survived. By the 1980s this mill had been saved and converted to domestic use, with a single 13 ft by 5 ft breast-shot wood/metal wheel driving a generator. The stones were still on site.
This mill had a breastshot waterwheel.
