On the Shill Brook, One of two Domesday mills listed locally, this mill, at Mill Farm, was shown on Davis’s map of 1793. Only the wooden shaft of the 13 ft by 6 ft breast-shot wheel remained in the early 1980s. The feeder is very long and probably artificial. Where it passes close to Manor Farm (SP 287 039), a late 19th century 9ft by 6ft breast-shot wheel was in use in the 1980s to power farm machinery in a nearby barn.
This mill had a breastshot waterwheel.
