London Bridge Waterworks Company located on the north side of the Old London Bridge (1209-1831). In 1703 George Sorocold installed undershot waterwheels into the arches of Old London Bridge replacing the earlier 1582 Peter Morris-built waterwheels. The Sorocold wheels were supplemented by additional wheels designed by John Smeaton in 1768.
