A weatherboarded mill was built here c 1870 by Fred Taylot, and refitted in 1890 with a Whitmore and Binyon roller plant. It was bought by Hovis in 1915 and fitted with a Garrett semi-portable engine. The building was demolished and rebuilt in Art Deco style in 1936, powered by diesel. It was used as a feed mill from 1947 and from 1977 became a builder's merchants. It was finally demolished to make way for a Tesco's entrance.
