These cotton mills were built by Mr Caleb Wright in the 1850s. Resolution Mill was acquired by Mr Wright in the 1880s, but was destroyed by fire on September 26, 1891. The site of Resolution Mill was built over with the new Barnfield Number 6 mills in 1894. Barnfield No 6 was considered one of the most advanced mills of its type when it was constructed.
