Part of the Gelli Iago farm complex. This drystone constructed sawmill is a two room structure on an E-W alignment. It has a cast iron and wood waterwheel 2.3m in diameterx 0.6m wide in an installation on its N side and in a pit 4.9m x 1.5m - the timber plates for the axle of the wheel are still in situ. The wheel was made by E Rowen of Porthmadog. Overall dimensions of the structure are: 8.6m long x 5m wide. The walls are a maximum of 2m high. Amongst rubble debris in the interior of the building are the remains of the old saw. The structure was roofed with corrugated iron sheets. At the E end of the structure are the drystone remains, 0.8m wide of the superstructure which supported the timber lined leat that brought a water supply to the wheel from the nant to the south of the site.
