The mill was built by Spillers Ltd in 1877, and was comprised of grain silos, a mill and warehouse to produce feed for livestock, milled flour and dry pet food. It was part of Tomkins PLC from 1997, and in 1998 the mill was closed. The mill and warehouse have since been demolished, but the silos remain.
