Mill photographed without sails had a braced tailpole (in the Dutch fashion) and a hexagonal cone-shaped cap with an acorn finial supporting the stem of a weather vane which is missing. The tower is of vertical boarding, and below the curb are curved (fish-bellied) timbers at each "quarter" of the tower.
