Bockingford Mill, Tovil

A water-powered corn mill in the historic county of Kent, England.

The mill was converted to a house, retaining remains of waterwheel. Bockingford Mill was originally a fulling mill site, which was later used for rag-breaking, possibly for Hayle Mill downstream. About 1850 it was converted to a corn mill which worked until c.1891 when it was converted into cottages. In recent years the building has been rebuilt in brick and pebble-dashed; no machinery survives except for the axle and arms of an iron overshot waterwheel in an inaccessible position underneath the mill.
