Shown on Senex's map of 1729. A 1763 lease from owner Thomas Streatfeild of Oxted to Thomas Burley (1699-1771) is held by Kent History Archives, which refers to the mill as Oxted Upper Mills, with mills for both wheat and oats. Thomas Burley's son and grandson (both John) renewed the leases.
Houses are recorded to have been built over the mill pond in 1817. The mill house is still extant as the Wheatsheaf Inn at at 9-11 High Street, Oxted.
