A mill stood in this place in the Doomsday in 1086.
Mr G H Holton bought the mill in 1841, at which point it the mill had 3 old millstones. In 1897, G H Holton and Sons upgraded the mill to the Robinson system of rolling milling machinery, and fitted a steam engine and boiler to power it.
