On a tributary of the Evenlode, a metal 13 ft 6 inch by 5 ft overshot wheel, bearing Lampitt’s name, was formerly fed from a pond, now dry. At one stage, all metal gear with three pairs of stones was powered by steam, which drove the stone spindles through bevels.
This mill had an overshot waterwheel.
