This mill was formerly located in the nearby Audomarois marsh and is thought to be either Clairmarais smock drainage no.1 or 2. Le moulin de l'Aile was used to manage the waters by draining the latter with its Archimedes screw. The mill was damaged in the late 1940s due to a storm and later dismantled. It was rebuilt in 2013 in a new location at the Parc de la Maison du Marais. The foundations of the mill have been preserved in their original location in the heart of the marsh.
