Operated as a grinding mill for gun barrel boring c. 1725. This windmill, alongside 2 mill pools were incorporated into the Wednesbury Forge, a forge and iron mill. Wednesbury Forge was leased in 1817 by Mr Edward Elwell, and was later bought by him in 1831.
