Black Eagle Mill, Houghton
A wind-powered corn mill in the historic county of Huntingdonshire, England.

In 1841, the resident miller was Potto Brown, son or brother of William Brown who was the miller at the watermill. Potto Brown took over the watermill in partnership with Joseph Goodman. Potto was a Quaker and his milling and farming businesses made him a wealthy man and he was known for his philanthropy. The Brown family probably still owned Black Eagle mill renting it out to various millers recorded in the census returns up to 1871. Potto’s sons George and Bateman were also millers. The mill was demolished some time in the early 20th century.
