The site of a medieval fulling mill, built by monks from Newminster Abbey in Morpeth between 1226 and 1244 and probably abandoned within 100 years. This was excavated between 2011 and 2014, with finds including the wheel pit, a washing area for cloth and a revetment on the bank that protected the mill machinery.
