A date of 1735 is carved beneath a window, so the mill may have been constructed at this time. It had three pairs of stones. It ceased work in the 1870s; the machinery remained intact until the 1920s when the internal floors collapsed. Some machinery remained in the mill until 1989, at which time the surviving stone walls were incorporated into a house.
