In 1830 Daniel Hughes worked at the mill; by 1840 it had been taken over by John Tingle and in 1853 it belonged to Thomas Henry Gotch. It then passed into the hands of the Coleman family, who also owned the nearby tower mill. The mill seems to have ceased working by 1885, but stood till 1900 when it was demolished on 17 May. The housing estate now on the site commemorates the mill in the road names Windmill Walk and Windmill Avenue.
