At Domesday, a mill of no value was recorded at Horsenden. This might indicate that it had been demolished and not yet rebuilt. The next mention of a mill in the parish is in the 16th century under the ownership of the Cotton family from Gloucestershire. The mill is again mentioned in a survey of the bounds of the parish taken in 1620. There are no subsequent references and the mill is long gone.
