Two mills at Burnham were mentioned in Domesday. This mill, close to Burnham railway station on the outskirts of Slough, was of white-painted woodwork with a tiled roof. It had an iron overshot wheel 8 ft diameter by 6 ft. In the 1930s it was still in working order and was used to do a small amount of grist milling, although the owners, Rogers Bros, were largely engaged in the business of coal merchants.
