- Notes: Contains a letter from Nick Kelly to Ron Cookson (2005) which states:
The wheels were in use in the mines which eventaully closed in the 1950s.
Water-power was preferred to steam as there was no good steam coal avaialble.
The local power company still uses Pelton wheels to generate electricity as they are better suited to laocal conditions than turbines.
