    Facsimile of book first published in Gothic script in Leipzig in 1724, the first of a total of 16 volumes published by the author.

    It covers such mechanical principles as levers, pulleys, cog-wheels etc. The 18th chapter covers different kinds of windmill and their sails and ways to measure wind strength. The 20th chapter covers water power, including water wheels and ways to measure water flow.At the end of the book are numerous diagrams illustrating the text, including some relevant to windmills and water wheels.
