The book is divided into two sections: Recollections of Robert Wilson which covers the life of a miller within the context of village life, customs, local economy, religion and politics; Commentary: the Wilsons of Huttoft which describes the family history in Huttoft, Alford, North Somercotes and Peterborough. These sections are amply illustrated with photographs and maps.
