Scope & content	Summary Translation A booklet in a series about historical monuments in the Schwerin area, describing the water mill built on the outlet of the Fauler See in the 18th century, initially planned as a powder mill but in fact built as a tanning and hulling mill. It was reequipped for cutting, grinding and polishing stones in 1755. Much of its output went on ducal monuments, but once the Schwerin palace was completed in the mid-19th century, the duke lost interest in the mill. The building was converted to a water-driven wool spinning mill. The wheel was finally stopped in the early 20th century, but the mill building was restored in 1950.The booklet describes in detail the relationship of the ducal family to the mill’s fortunes, the millwrights and millers, the technology, the raw materials and the output of the mill.It is illustrated with black-and-white photos, historical diagrams and paintings. There is a handwritten dedication by mill expert H. Gleisberg.
