It contains a brief history of mills in the area and a discussion of the technology and uses of different kinds of mill and water wheel. It lists 117 water driven mills and five windmills, with similar information as in the first chapter. There is detailed information about the Bertram miller family, to which the author belongs. The book ends with a list of mills in the northern Eifel and their output in 1937; various systems of weights and measures in the Aachen, Cologne and Düsseldorf regions and their conversion into modern units, and random supplementary information about millers.The book is richly illustrated with black-and-white photos, historical reproductions, and diagrams.
