| Scope & content | Eelbeck was a dynamic community associated with Cook's Mill, a gristmilling complex in Chattahoochee County, Georgia. First settled in 1826 and established as a rural mill, Eelbeck achieved a complex integrated level of milling technology and a classic example of gristmilling evolution. Absorbed by the Fort Benning Military Reservation in 1941, Eelbeck ceased to exist. This report was commissioned to preserve Eelbeck on the National Register of Historic Places. |
