Scope & content	This is a detailed site and building survey report of the Grade 2* open trestle post mill at Great Gransden in Cambridgeshire. It was built in 1612 (deed) and is the oldest remaining post mill in England. It includes external and internal photographs and measured drawingsthe transcribed field notes of C F Tebbutt in 1932 and a report by Rex Wailes in 1938. Names of the owners and millers include: John Bruce (1680); Edward Shrive, miller, and Joseph Webb, husbandman, Overseers of the Poor giving a "value of 2 shillings for two mills" (1686); John Batterfield (1708);George Williamson (1828); Wright Blackman (1835); Cornelius Wright (1848); F Webb and T Webb (1848-1854); William Jabez (Billy) Webb (1890-1911); Aubrey Lemuel Webb, the last miller (1912) who ran the mill for six months after which it was damaged by a storm and ceased working. Aubrey was killed in action in France during WWI.
