Scope & content | A pictorial book of life in Cambridgeshire during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. It includes many images of the university town of Cambridge, the villages and towns of Cambridgeshire, agriculture and rural life. There are also images of rural crafts and industries such as digging for coprolites and the use of steam engines to drain the Fens. Other images cover transport, sport, special occasions and people. There are a few images of mills: Leach's Mill at Wisbech c1895 and an image of a drainage mill on the Middle Fen Bank between Ely and Prickwillow taken c1900. |
