Scope & contentSummary TranslationFlimsy leaflet about the windmills in Woldegk in Mecklenburg. The watermill was demolished in 1587 and the first windmill built to replace it. In all there were ten windmills. Originally they were postmills, but in the 19th century four tower mills and two smock mills were built. One postmill was sold in 1923, demolished and rebuilt in Strasburg. One of the tower mills was destroyed as a result of the war in 1945 and not rebuilt. One of the surviving mills has been made into a museum. A supporters’ organisation was set up in 1987, which has so far acquired wood to repair sales, rescued items that were due to be scrapped, and been given the right to have a say in decisions concerned with the mills. It is also trying to engage young people in its work. The four-page leaflet contains one photo and one sketch plan.
