As St Patrick’s Day gets underway, I thought I should share with you this article written by a recent Mills Archive volunteer. It shows some interesting glimpses – and beautiful images – of early medieval Irish watermills
We do have some books on mills in Ireland and a few images on our online catalogue, but we need so much more information about this country, whose milling history has been often neglected outside of Ireland itself.
Do you have any images or documents about mills in Ireland that you would be happy to share with us? Help us put Ireland on the map and preserve this important part of its rich heritage for future generations.
Please use our contact form or you can submit your images and information via our ongoing crowdsourcing project, the Great British Mill Race.
Sláinte!
