Volunteer Andrew Munro has left us after two years of hard work on the E M Gardner collection.
Andrew joined us in 2014 to gain work experience with archives. For most of his time here he has been working throught the collection of notes and photographs created by E M Gardner, a leading watermill researcher from the 1950s. This was not without its challenges, not least of which was trying to interpret Miss Gardner’s spidery handwriting! Over the course of two years he added over a 1000 entries to our catalogue (have a look here) and became a valued member of the Mills Archive family.
You can read about the E M Gardner collection and Andrew’s work on it here. We wish him all the best as he leaves to start an internship at Reading Museum.
