Mills Archive staff and volunteers turned their efforts to gardening rather than milling on a rather drizzly weekend.
A few of us came to help with the planting of bulbs in the newly landscaped garden of Watlington House, where we are based.
The disappointing wet weather was offset by the pastries, mince pies and mulled wine provided by the trustees of Watlington House.
People from the surrounding area also made an appearance as well as from the Berkshire Gardens Trust, and while the theme was definitely gardening, the conversation turned to mills very quickly!
We look forward to enjoying our new garden next year, complete with flowers of many varieties. If you come to visit in the future, you too will be able to enjoy this space in central Reading.
