We have just received a fascinating collection of material that otherwise faced an uncertain future.
The stunning editions of the Northwestern Miller, a US publication that ran for a number of decades, were kindly donated by the Satake Centre for Grain Process Engineering prior to relocation.
This particular collection, dating from the early- to mid-1900s and comprising several metres’ worth of magazines, complements our existing collection of earlier issues and is in good condition. The collection provides a fascinating insight into the changes taking place in the mill world and the introduction of new technology.
The artwork is beautiful and the magazines reflect not only these mill developments but also those of art and design and social and economic changes.
We will be making a lot more of this collection in future, so watch this space.
