Ted Hazen RIP

We have heard from our friends in the USA that Ted Hazen died on Sunday afternoon, 1st December. His website Pond Lily Restorations was one of the first devoted to mill restoration in its many aspects and was a world-renowned source of information on even the oddest aspects of molinology.

His website at http://www.angelfire.com/journal/pondlilymill/menu.html was always worth a browse and we wonder if it will now be lost to us. America has lost a man who in his words was “Master Miller, Millwright, Millstone Dresser; Consultant on grist mills & flour mills, water wheels & turbines, millstones, millstone grinding, & millstone dressing; long & short system roller mills; operating mills & mill restoration. His website described him as America’s Leading Authority on the Restoration, Operation, Interpretation and Preservation of Historical Grist and Flour Mills.
