Our survey of Mills Archive users attracted a very encouraging 35% response rate and the results were impressively consistent.
Four separate areas of our activity were covered: the physical amenities we offer, our Internet services, the content of our collections and our education and outreach services.
The top results in each category were:
- The most important amenities provided by the Mills Archive: quiet surroundings conducive to research, 94%.
- Our most important services over the Internet: helpful and knowledgeable initial response to an email query, 78%.
- The most important documents and images from our collections: photographs of mills over the years, 83%.
- Our most important outreach services and education themes: promoting an interest in mills to the general public, 74%.
